The Royal Hapan Armed Forces have been protecting the Hapan borders ever since the Hapes Consortium was formed. Since its founding, the Armed Forces have remained loyal to its core values of honour, pride, and strength. Time and again, the Armed Forces have demonstrated the nobility and resolve of the Consortium, stoutly defending the cluster against pirates and foreign agressors alike.
The Armed Forces consist of three main components: The Ministry of Defense, the Royal Hapan Army, and the Royal Hapan Navy.
The Ministry of Defense provides for the civilian administration of all military matters, setting policy and providing assistance to the leadership of both combat branches. It serves as the voice of the military in government forums, while also ensuring the needs and concerns of its leadership and officer corps are met. Also under the ministry's umbrella of authority is the Royal Military Academy, providing excellence in training to both military branches.
The Royal Hapan Army consists of all ground-based combat forces of the Hapes Consortium. Its soldiers guard the streets, forests, stations, ships, and the Royal Palace itself, loyal sentinals against any force which might seek to harm the Consortium and any of its citizens.
The Royal Hapan Navy leads the many fleets and squadrons of the Hapes Consortium, keeping its space free of harm. In times of war, its ships serve as the Consortium's preferred offensive form, attacking the enemy's ability to launch troops and ships into the cluster.
