Welcome to the Ministry of Intelligence.

Nestled into the capital city on Hapes is a building. The building is unimpressive, as far as ministries go. The grounds are a simple affair, with shrubs and greenery surrounding the building, which has a small amount of open area to any one side. In front of the building, perched atop of pillars supporting the entryway arch sit a pair of ornately carved falcons. From their perch a great amount of the city is observable, including the complex ministry of culture and the royal palace.

Inside the building, nothing out of the ordinary catches the eye. It appears to be a normal reception-type establishment, behind the security checks are a bank of turbolift entrances. These lifts bring the visitor several stories down into the planets surface, beneath which is the massive intelligence complex that makes up the Ministry of Intelligence. Each lift has the ability to go to a number of sections of the ministry, depending upon the access level of the visitor. Retinal and fingerprint scans, coupled with a valid Hapan ID tells the automated lifts where to go.

The first level is a low-security complex, housing general intelligence officers who browse open transmissions from outside sources such as news agencies and telebroadcasting networks. Such open source intelligence is low priority, but sifting through the low priority transmissions is vital to securing light intelligence on open factions throughout the galaxy.

The next level down, coded level green, is slightly more secure. All of the intelligence intercepted by Hapan intelligence officers in the field is routed here for examination. The officers working here are higher-ranked than in the upper level, entrusted to more sensitive data.

Going down one more level, the visitor will observe the main intelligence operation complex of the Hapes Consortium. Intelligence officers working undercover in factions throughout the galaxy route their gathered information to this level, level orange, for analysis. Defecting officers from other factions are also sent here for debriefing. Using various methods, the staff of level orange maintain the Hapan intelligence datafiles for the Royal Council, keeping them up to date and accurate.

The final level, Red level, is reserved for the elite. The Minister of Intelligence runs the show down here, where the sun never shines. Deep undercover operatives and Hapan internal security officers maintain contact with this level to provide sensitive and time critical information to the ministry. The Minister himself reviews these reports and presents his findings to the Royal Council as required to protect the infrastructure of the Consortium. Here also reside the intelligence archives of the Consortium, dating back to the creation of the intelligence department. Any incident both recent and otherwise is available for review from these archives.

The ministry as a whole has one goal, which is to keep the Consortium secure and informed. Through this ministry the government maintains its ability to make informed and timely decisions on sensitive matters upon which depend Hapan lives and livelihood. Working in conjunction with the other Ministries making up the government, MoI helps to preserve that which the Consortium holds dear: It's Freedom.
