The magnificent city of Avalon is the bold representation of the ever-increasing Hapan influence within the Galaxy.
As the capital city of Lorell, it has the remarkable distinction of being the central hub of diplomacy and communication
between the Hapes Cluster and the galactic community. It is one of the most visited locales in the entire Galaxy.
However, unlike other major galactic cities, Avalon sacrifices neither its rich Hapan heritage nor its natural wonders.
Rather, Avalon is a marvelous and harmonious blend of Hapan culture, traditions and their innate love for their natural
world along with the technological advancements permeating the Galactic community today. It is a mixture of the old
and of the new while yet maintaining its proud Hapan identity.
The majestic Lorell Government Centre, located in the heart of Avalon, is the political center of the Rifle Sector of
the Hapes Cluster. The main facility consists of a series of buildings adjoined together in a crescent-moon shape, with
one of the most exquisite garden plazas ever designed within the center. The architectural style speaks of traditional
Hapan design using earthy tones and intricately patterned with nature motifs, such as the vast selection of flora found
only on Lorellian soil. The garden plaza consists of several concentric circles, the outermost circle being the plaza
walkway, followed by a canal of crystal-clear water, and then a garden with luscious shrubbery and trees lining the main
pathway from the entrance of the Government Centre to the City Hall. Several bridges connect the outer walkway with the
inner garden and there are fountains scattered throughout the plaza. Floating atop the still circular river are ornate
Hapan paper lamps atop lilypads, which are lit during the brief nighttime hours of Lorell to illuminate the garden plaza.
The Government Centre houses the main facilities and offices of the Archon of the Hapan Rifle Worlds, whose jurisdiction
includes the Lorell system along with several other worlds. Policies that can affect the economic and social lifeblood
of the Hapan worlds are created, discussed and put into action in this very building. It is also the main epicenter for
visits by foreign dignitaries and officials as well as summits between various worlds for discussions of both political
and economic agendas.
