Over 4000 years ago the savage and brutal Lorell Raiders first ventured in to what was known Athanil Nebula, hiding from the
patrolships of the Galactic Republic, they stumbled across a large starsystem whose main planet was temperate, surrounded by
three beautiful and colourful moons. They named it Lorell.
The Raiders decided to use this concealed system as their new base of operation from which they could easily strike numerous
nearby core sectors of the Galactic Republic. They kidnapped beautiful females from hundreds of worlds and brought them to
their new base, forcing them to marry their own. Over time the Lorell Raiders explored more of the Athanil Nebula and discovered
more starsystems. Eventually they moved to a larger system deeper inside the nebula which they named Hapes. The nebula itself
was renamed the Transitory Mist and the cluster of stars the Hapes Cluster.
In the end the females were in vast majority in the Hapes Cluster and as the Galactic Republic’s Jedi Knights wiped out most of
the Lorell Raiders, the females rebelled against their male oppressors, taking control of the Hapes Cluster and founding the
Hapes Consortium. Lorell became, apart from the Hapan system, the most vital system in the Hapes Cluster. It laid in the middle
of the only known opening in the Transitory Mist. Any ship wanting to get in to the cluster would have to pass through the system.
The Hapes Consortium established a feudal system with the Queen Mother ruling the cluster, her Ladies the systems and the
Countesses her planets. Over the decades, centuries and millennia as the Hapes Consortium grew more powerful and richer, Lorell
was constantly made more and more heavily fortified in order to prevent any outsiders from entering their space. The Royal Hapan
Space Fleet was transformed in to the Royal Hapan Navy and the Lorell system was always the first to receive the newest and best
ships from Olanji Shipyards. Apart from the occasional pirate vessel and Galactic Republic diplomatic transport, there was never
any major conflict that threatened peace in the cluster.
After nearly four thousand years of harmony, all hell broke lose as the last Queen Mother died without appointing a heir to the
throne among her two daughters. The Princesses bickered and rallied the nobles behind them as they exchanged sharp words in the
Hapan Royal Council. Eventually Princess Da’tanah Pal’durath made her move and had the Lady of Lorell, who supported Princess
Ta’lan Pal’durath, killed by the local Countess. The Hapan civil war had begun and Lorell was the first system to be affected.
For nearly a century the war raged across the entire Hapes Cluster and Lorell was nicknamed “Arx Hapani” meaning Fortress Hapes.
Princess Da’tanah’s regime used it as a relay point to the outside galaxy, bringing in warships from the outside that were sold
to them by corrupt politicians of the Galactic Republic. At the end of the war, Lorell fell as the brave Phoenix Movement under
the leadership of Andrew Starfyre and Derrek Florda swept through and annexed surrendering military forces in it’s path.
Andrew Starfyre was named King of the reunified Hapes Consortium and became the first male ruler in history. Lorell became a closed
down system in order to seal off the entrance to the cluster while the citizens of the Consortium worked hard to rebuild their
wartorn world. Over time the population of the Cluster started to rise again and cities were rebuilt with the help of the vast
Royal treasury.
King Andrew appointed Alexander Tylger, the son of the Lord of Arxian, to be the first governor of Lorell since the war. The
Consortium slowly opened its doors to the outside once more and permitted foreign corporations to set up base on Lorell as the
King realised foreign investors were needed if the Hapan economy was ever to get back on track.
Over the following ten years, many governors came and went. Some of the more notable were Choibacco Antaria, also known as Leto Chume,
Genma Digma, Pixelor Xess and Celestin Abriel. In time the planet’s surface, including the vast oceans and glaciers, were covered
with large cities who grew together and connected. The various former cities became known as mere districts of the grand Lorell city.
Eventually as the need for more living space and office buildings in the Lorell system grew, the Consortium also started developing
the other less hospitable planets of the system, building enormous citydomes to protect the cities from the toxic or lack of atmosphere.
A few years ago a former governor, a Falleen crimelord from the Black Sun syndicate called Kosh Naranek, illegally used his old
credentials as he purchased entire city districts on behalf of his corrupt masters. They developed shantytowns which they populated
with exiled criminals from the Falleen Federation. The new, unwanted inhabitants of Lorell started venturing in to the respectable
districts on Lorell and committed theft, fraud, kidnapping, murder and worse. After long negotiations with Black Sun that led nowhere,
the Hapan military took action and evacuated the cities before removing the worn down districts with orbital bombardment. The
criminals were shipped back to Falleen shortly after. Now those cities have been rebuilt and contribute for the better of the
planet with high tax income from modern skyscrapers.
Lorell remains the second most important system in the Hapes Cluster even today as the governor’s office has been abolished and the
planet now falls under the jurisdiction of the Archon of the Hapan Rifle Worlds.
