The History of the Hapan Star

King Jessy James, along with all his all his other grand and very successful ideas, was the one to invent a local Hapan newspaper. He still claims, chuckling, that the idea came to him on a very late night after much brainstorming and even more Hapan Brandy. Whilst the HNN broadcasted the news via hologram, the consortium lacked a serious newspaper. His main idea was to create a small paper and publish it once a fortnight. The reporters of this newspaper were to summarise the many and complicated events of the GNS and all the happenings of the outside Galaxy in order to keep the folk of Hapes up to date at all times, and were very eager to do so at first.

As far as the records of the short history of the HNN states, Lord Vang Tyrridon was the first to take over King Jessy James’ new idea as the king was too occupied with other occupations, such as running an entire Consortium and maintaining the wellbeing of a good 300 billion people. However, the Armed Forces held back Lord Tyrridon and kept him from publishing and recruiting staff for the paper. Some applicants say today that the selection criteria requested by the lord, chief editor of the paper at the time, were set too high and almost impossible to achieve. And so the paper maintained a low number of reporters and too little articles and issues to be published.

Former minister Celestin Abriel took over the paper from then, adopting it as the Hapan Star with the intention of turning it into a newspaper, instead of a local newspaper. At the same time, Carrie Jade took an eager interest in the paper. Together with Celestin she worked on some issues, and thanks to Minister Mors Baynos’ creative mind and graphical skills, add-ons for Hapan ID cards were made that would resemble one’s rank of reporter for the Hapan Star. Very soon the paper grew more and more popular, and finally, fell into the hands of Carrie Jade.

An office was set up in a blue skyscraper on Hapes Prime, advertisements were sent out, reporters were recruited and the paper was published regularly. A budget was arranged so that the staff would now receive a small additional add-on to their monthly salary for every published article of theirs. The future of the Star now lies in the hands of Miss Carrie Jade, however she has managed to bring the paper to its climax so far and so it is suspected that the future can only bring better surprises.
