Over the last few days, a bizzare sequence of events has taken place in the Hapan Royal Palace. Royal Jester Tantho, pictured here...

...has been jailed, following a series of offences ranging from assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. We at HNN have compiled the following report on the last month of Jester Tantho's life.

Almost a month ago, Tantho, a Fighter Pilot in the Royal Hapan Navy, was offered a job at the Royal Palace. At the time, he didn't read the fine print of his job contract, and was unaware that he was to be the Royal Jester.
However, after arriving for his new job and finding that he was to be an entertainer, he set about being the best Jester possible. He was the riot of parties, the fool of functions, and was indespensible at banquets. Soon he was considered the Consortiums finest entertainer, and was even given a half-hour slot on our very own HCBC (Hapes Consortium Broadcasting Commission) Entertainment channel.
But sadly, his fame and fortune came to an abrupt end.
Found dipping into the Royal Family's private stash of alcohol, Tantho was given a harsh lecture by the King. But for more than a week, the Royal Butler had been cataloguing the dissapearence of some of the finest and rarest drinks in the galaxy.
Here's what he had to say when HNN interviewed him:
HNN Reporter: "So, what actually happened?"
Butler: "Well, i had been cataloguing all the alcohol, and the wines and such, and i had noticed that some seemed to be dissapearing. Remembering the incident from the week before, i immediately suspected Tantho."
HNN Reporter: "And you decided to confront him on the issue?"
Butler: "Well, yes, but not immediately. I decided to wait until i had some hard evidence."
HNN Reporter: "Did you ever get that evidence?"
Butler: "Yes, but much earlier than i expected. One of the gardeners came to me with some glass fragments he found. I asked him to show me where, and he lead me to the garden under Tantho's bedroom window. I looked directly under the window, and found at least a score of broken bottles. Most of the labels indicated that they were from the King's private stock"
HNN Reporter: "So what did you do about it?"
Butler: "i decided to wait until morning, then take Tantho to his Majesty and present the evidence."
HNN Reporter: "Were you able to do that?"
Butler: *laughs* "No, but i'd say the end result was better."
HNN Reporter: "Describe it for us, and our viewers."
Butler: "Very well. Later that evening, there was a commotion in the corridors. I went out to see what was happening, and then i saw Tantho. He was running down the corridor towards me. Well, it was more like stumbling actually, he was quite intoxicated. Anyway, he was stark naked. Not a single piece of clothing. He was also carrying a bottle that i instantly recognised. It was Hapan Fire Brandy, the strongest drink in the galaxy, and bottle was nearly empty."
Tantho clearly had no idea that he was being chased. Security guards took some 15 standard minutes to catch him, but as he was being handed over to the police, he broke his restraints, attacked the guard holding him back, and ran off heading for the capital city itself.
He was finally captured hours later and fined. After refusing to pay the fine he is now sitting in jail paying "time" for his crime.
