The Hapan News Network introduction begins with scenes from across the Hapes Cluster flashing across the screen, accompanied with the uplifting theme melody. As the sequence comes to a conclusion, Anacia Chalcedon appears on screen in studio before the backdrop of the Castle of Per`Aghtra.

"Good day, Hapes.

Two week have passed since Vang Tarix Tyrridon passed away, leaving the Consortium mourning the elderly statesman. Two days ago, the Fountain Palace announced that the Minister of Industry, Tal Locke, is due to receive the title of Grand Duke - or Tarix - today.

The Rai`ix Chume`s vicereine, Vilicus Bajetix, informs us that Fel`da Locke`s appointment is not intended as a replacement for Tyrridon, and that it was always intended to occur following the conclusion of the Oxbo Project on Ut. Considering the timing of Tyrridon`s passing the Royal Court allowed for an appropriate period of mourning to pass before announcing the new appointment to the Council of Lords."

An image of Tal Locke sporting the Royal Court uniform of a Tarix appears in the embedded image on the right side of the screen, causing Chalcedon to break out in a wide smile.

"Tal Locke becomes the 20th Tarix appointed, not counting various reinstatements, since the end of the Hapan Civil War 39 years ago. He is the sixth non-human awarded the title in Hapan history. It is also the first proper such appointment since the ascension of the new Rai`ix Chume two years ago, as Starfyre was reinstated last fall after having previously renounced his title during the reign of King James in 4031.

Bajetix further told HNN that Locke has chosen the Baldavia system in the Interior region of the Hapes Cluster as the dominion of his Tarii.

We now take you live to the Fountain Palace to follow the induction ceremony."

The image cuts to the Hall of Heroes in the Royal Hapan Palace. The vast oval chamber is decorated with banners hanging from the top of the lengthy marble columns that circle the room, and a colossal wind crystal chandelier bathes the spectators in a warm glow. On the opposite end of the room is a massive stained glass window crafted after the emblem of House Arxianic, the second Royal dynasty of the Hapes Consortium. The vast crowd consists of officials and nobles from Lorell Hall, members of the High Command, and representatives from the myriad of worlds, governments, and cultures of the Hapes Cluster.

The
Chume`doro Favoured standing by the chamber`s podium sound the dugglehorns, announcing the arrival of the Rai`ix Chume and the crowd immediately falls silent as the monarch appears through a large gate leading further in to the palace complex. He looks over the crowd and smiles before starting his address, his words echoing throughout the chamber.

"Your Highnesses. Your Excellencies. Your Honours. Duly appointed representatives. Peoples of the Consortium.

Today, we all pay tribute to an exceptional individual who has risen through the ranks of the Consortium. During his time in service of the Crown, Fel`da Tal Locke has displayed commendable and exceptional qualities consistent with what we have come to expect of Our senior officials. His inherent fortitude, temperance, and resolve, along with his tremendous achievements in the field of industry - the Oxbo Project being the most paramount of which - have led him to this apex in his career.

It is Our pleasure to award Tal Locke the Gold Medal of Construction, as well as bestow upon him the title of Grand Duke - or Tarix - and inducting him in to the Council of Lords."

The crowd applauds as Tal Locke enters on the far side of the chamber, wearing his black Royal Court uniform adorned with golden Tzimernut leaf embroideries across the chest and cuffs. The Barabel moves down the blue carpet covering the centre of the chamber before ascending the stairs towards the podium and finally kneeling before the monarch.

A retainer moves to the King`s side, presenting to him the Sceptre of Tini`duran resting on a large ceremonial pillow. The Rai`ix Chume takes the golden piece of regalia and lowers it slowly down over each of Locke`s shoulders in turn while speaking the traditional induction phrase.

"L Rai`ix Chume n e Hapes Enexilanthius, melar te shakal n e laiadix od ceres n llerio Tarix. Torsul, Tal Tarix Locke."

Locke rises once again and bows his head to the King before turning to the crowd, which applauds and cheers enthusiastically. The Barabel flashes his toothy grin and turns back to the King, shaking his hand. The two depart the Hall of Heroes trailed by members of the Chume`doro as the dugglehorns sound once again.

The scene fades to black before the channel turns to a commercial break.
