The familiar introductory sequence of the Hapan News Network flashes across the screen. As the sequence comes to an end, Anacia Chalcedon appears on screen in front of the Castle of Per`Agthra. She smiles warmly before she begins to speak.
“We've just received notice that the Fel`da of External Affairs, Kimberly Pelin`a Tylger, is holding a news conference regarding a new appointment in her ministry.
The screen changes to show the Pelin`a standing in front of a podium, ready to speak. To her right stood Ambassador Crawford and to her left other members of her ministry. In front were the various news reporters and photographers that so often frequented these events.
“Greetings. I come before you today to announce the promotion of Ambassador Evan Crawford to the position of Fel`ta of External Affairs. Evan has proven, through his dedication and hard work, to be a valuable member of the Ministry. Evan has had a long history in the Hapes Consortium, previously serving in the Royal Hapan Armed Forces and the Ministry of Industry. His knowledge of the galaxy outside of the Cluster is strong thanks to his time served as the leader of the InterGalactic Bank but his dedication to Hapes is unquestionable. Since moving to the Ministry of External Affairs Evan has negotiated several important non-aggression pacts, has opened negotiations with several new groups and has been a consistent and reliable source of support for myself; his ability to bring new ideas to the table and to help improve upon the methods already in use have proven invaluable. I have full faith in his abilities and I look forward to continue to work with him as he steps forward into this new role of leadership and accountability.
In addition, I am awarding upon Evan the Letter of Diplomatic Achievement. This letter is awarded to members who have represented the Hapes Consortium in matters of external affairs and successfully negotiated important treaties. Please extend Evan your warmest wishes as he moves forward with his distinguished career.â€
As she finished, the Pelin`a stepped back and moved to Evan, handing him the Letter of Achievement and preparing to pose for the various pictures the photographers in the crowd would be sure the want. The screen then faded back to Anacia Chalcedon.
“There you have it folks, a new Fel`ta has been appointed to External Affairs. We wish Fel`ta Crawford the best of luck in his new position.â€
