The Fountain Palace released a statement today announcing the appointment of Fel`da Gane Lant to the position of Tarix Chume (Lord Regent). With the retirement of his trusted friend and adviser, Lord Starfyre, the King is reportedly making efforts to reduce his own stress load. Rumors from inside the palace say that the King has been struggling with illness these past months, though the severity of this illness is highly debated. Pelin`a Kimberly Tylger has been seen spending increased time at the Royal Palace. Official sources from inside External Affairs report that she has taken a reduced role in the running of the ministry as of late, leaving increased responsibility to her recently appointed Fel`ta.
Though no official announcement was made, it is believed that Lord Starfyre retired some months ago. According to the official press release from the Palace today, Lord Starfyre wished to step away from his demanding responsibilities as Prime Minister and Regent so that he could focus on the governance and development of the Charubah system, which he remains the Tarix of.
The Royal Council is said to be in full support of the King's appointment. As Lord Regent, Tarix Lant has authority second only to the King himself. During a speech today, he told Lorell Hall that his top priority remains furthering the ideas and goals of the Rai'ix Chume.
