Oh yes, it is that time of the year again Hapes. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a pleasant holiday season, as well as a joyous upcoming New Year from the RC! Enjoy the week ahead as the Consortium gets covered in our minds under a blanket of snow, and as the clanging sounds from the gears of industry and war become more muffled in our ears for the days to come.
Every year we do things a little bit differently for the holidays, but as always, some things have stayed the same. Here are the four little things we have prepared for all you dear Hapans;
1. Holiday Bonus
As is customary, an extra round of wages has been paid out as a holiday bonus. Thank you for contributing to the community this year, and here’s to a very promising 2018!
2. Christmas Prize Hunt on Hapes.org
The Hunt Returns: From now lasting for roughly two weeks, you will every now and then stumble upon a hidden cash prize when browsing our main site!
(Logging in required for finding prizes, personal winnings capped at 40m, RC not eligible for winnings, winnings will be paid out in January alongside wages.)
3. Christmas Gift
With the amount of newer members we have around, we want to ensure everyone is getting around comfortably and in a timely manner outside the working hours. As a Christmas present, we would like to give all our members a YT-2000 of their own!
Here’s the dastardly twist; To claim the ship, pop to any of our text channels on our Discord server between now and the end of January, and wish people either a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, a Happy New Year, or a Great 2018! (Actual holiday spirit is optional but warmly recommended.)
4. Roleplaying Writing Competition
Feeling often like writing RP during the year but can’t be hassled because you’re too focused on looking good for your quarterly productivity reports instead? If so, we’ve got you covered with an official RP writing competition with some proper prizes.
The Holiday Season means many things to many people, but have we ever wondered what this time of the year means to our Combine counterparts? Are you celebrating the Life Day, indulging yourself on the beaches of a resort world, merely catching up on paperwork at the office, or something else entirely? We want to read your story!
Write up your submission for the competition on the above topic and send it to us before the end of January to take part. Everyone partaking with a text of 400 words or more will be eligible for a participation award of seven million credits (7,000,000c). A panel of three judges (Sia, Xesh & Zayth) will choose the winner and the runner-up. The winner will get a Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser for their efforts, and the runner-up will earn a C-3 Passenger Liner!
When deciding the winners, aspects the judges will take into account include but are not limited to: Readability (spelling, grammar, formatting), originality, creativity and the balance between descriptiveness and flow. Judges earn participation awards and may take part, but are not eligible for the winning prizes. You can submit your entries either to the thread linked below or by emailing them to the judges!
