Major Bridge Complex opens on Lorell

The clock strikes 12 o’clock noon as the Ministers of Carcassonne and
Loarre, take a pair of scissors and cut through a silk red ribbon to officially open the new bridge that shall bring the two cities even closer than before. The assembled citizens watch anxiously, then clap and cheer with great joy.
Up to present day the two cities were connected by two small bridges about
10 meters above the river that goes through them. The bridges were built in the early days of the cities and were no match for modern day traffic. After more than 20 years of either waiting in heavy traffic or making the effort of taking a ship to the other city, this four storey bridge leading across the great river with four lanes going in each direction and pavements on either side of all four storeys finally meets the demands of modern traffic and makes it possible for citizens to get to the other city in less than two minutes. The bridge is made of special hapan steel that builders have put their wholly trust in since many a year.
