The Royal Hapan Army was proud to announce today that it has formally opened its Hall of Honour on Maires. The Hall of Honour has long been a project desired by the army's personnel in order to properly reward those officers who have earned an enormous amount of respect over the years.

The announcement was made by Lieutenant General Lord Vang Tyrridon, commander of the Royal Hapan Army, during his keynote address to Graduating Class #254 of Recruit Training Depot Maires. The surprise visit and announcement coincided with an unscheduled inspection of the training facilities following his quarterly review conference with senior personnel from all deployed regiments.

"This is a great day for us," the general noted during his speach. "A day when we look upon those who came before us for guidance and strength. A day when I look out at these fine soldiers just entering their careers and wonder, 'Who among them will one day stand amongst those legends?'"

At the conclusion of the speach, Lord Tyrridon offered the following advice.

"Eventually, in your time of service, you will have doubts. We all come to that pass, eventually. You will wonder if you are strong enough, worthy enough, capable of the task at hand. It happens to us all. When that day comes, look to those we honour this day. Look to them and think upon how they would act. Think upon what they would do. And then carry through. To follow these examples, you can do no wrong."

Noted amongst the initial inductees were the retired Brigadier Noctura Lant and Colonel Freymas Lane, both of whom came as no surprise after their many years of service. However, also included was the more controversial choice of former Grand General Pez Harr, who currently resides in banishment from the cluster following what is still known as the "Pez Harr Incident," which sparked the brief period of civil unrest following the ascension of King Jessy James I.

"It was a difficult decision," Lord Tyrridon stated later, responding to questions regarding the induction, "but we weighed his service to the consortium to the incident which resulted in his banishment and decided his service merited consideration. In light of his Majesty's decision to restore the general's honour, it seemed sufficiently clear that his place in this hall is warranted."

While Lord Tyrridon will not be able to remain on Maires to meet them, aides - who asked that their names be withheld from this release - for both the royal family and the prime minister have stated that both will be visiting the hall in the very near future.
