As your chronometer marks hour 19:00, the holoscreen displays the HNN Evening Report logo as the familiar theme song plays in the background. The graphics fade away, revealing the lovely HNN newsanchor Anacia Chalcedon sitting behind the desk, her eyes peering downward towards her datapad. She is dressed in a sheer grey blouse with floral patterns. Her blonde hair is tied up in a bun, and as she lifts her head up, there is a stern look upon her face.
"Good evening and welcome to the HNN Evening News. We begin with today's top story. For over six months, the Hapan Ministry of Industry has been conducting a crucial operation throughout the Cluster that will have a major impact on the future of the Hapes Consortium. The Hapan Outpost Project, known around the circles as simply H.O.P. was a joint venture involving all branches of the Hapan Armed Forces, as well as collaboration with the regional Archons. H.O.P.’s was designed to be, in effect, the largest colonization project in Hapan history. Its goal was to establish a Hapan outpost at every known planetary body throughout the Hapan Cluster. Earlier today, a press conference was held at the MoInd Headquarters at Pinnacle Star, where the Minister of Industry, Ariath Windcloud, announced the completion of this grand operation.”
The holoscreen images switches from Anacia to that of the young Hapan minister standing before a large contingent of reporters and holocameras hovering around him.
“Ladies and gentlemen, today I am pleased to announce the successful completion of the Hapan Outpost Project. I am thrilled at this news, as H.O.P. was the foremost project that my ministry started when it was first formed. Over the course of several months, we overcame many obstacles and setbacks, but we maintained that vision - to set our feet on every Hapan planet, moon, and star in the known Cluster. Teams of engineers, scientists and builders accompanied Hapan entrepreneurs to establish outposts in these uncharted planetary bodies. This was in many ways, a colonization project and also in many ways, a scientific project. Each Hapan planet, along with a small colonized outpost, is equipped with their own security force and science station. Researchers will remain to protect and monitor the weather, local conditions and plant and animal life.”
“I strongly believe we have not only gained much in terms of establishing our presence Cluster-wide, but the knowledge and research we will obtain will be substantial in furthering the development of the Hapan way of life.”
The image again changes to that of Lord Alexander Tylger, being interviewed by an HNN reporter regarding H.O.P.
“The completion of the Hapan Outpost Project is a great achievement for the Hapes Consortium. I hope this opens new doors of opportunity for the more sheltered and outlying worlds of the Cluster and I know that the projects the scientists plan to start will be of great interest to the Hapan scientific community. I extend my thanks to all those patriotic individuals and families that volunteered to move to these new outposts. I am thrilled to have been given the time and opportunity to tour all the worlds of my region and meet likeminded individuals who strive for a grand Hapan future.”
